01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of North Vancouver at 321 Lynn Ave, The Artisan Bake Shoppe Ltd is a charming gem that beautifully combines the warmth of a family restaurant with the rich traditions of German baking. As a cafe, bakery, dessert shop, and German restaurant all in one, it offers a delightful sanctuary for those craving authentic, handcrafted baked goods and comforting meals steeped in artisanal quality and heritage.

What truly sets The Artisan Bake Shoppe apart is its unwavering commitment to crafting breads and cakes that celebrate natural, wholesome ingredients. Their bakery selection is nothing short of exceptional — imagine slicing into a dense, flavorful German Rye or savoring the delicate chew of their Multigrain loaf, all made without unnecessary additives or sugar. Loyal patrons like Mila Mukhortova rave about the purity and simplicity of these breads, noting the perfect balance of grains and seeds that make each bite genuinely nourishing and satisfying.

The pastry and dessert menu reads like a love letter to classic European flavors. From the tart, nutty Linzer Torte to the decadently smooth Black Forest Cake and the ethereal Vegan Chocolate Cake available with fruity accents like blueberry and cherry, every treat is a masterpiece. The seasonal Pumpkin Pie, praised for its buttery crust and rich filling by delighted customers like Maja Klempner, exemplifies how The Artisan Bake Shoppe mixes quality ingredients with time-honored recipes to create unforgettable flavor experiences.

The atmosphere mirrors the authenticity of the food — warm, welcoming, and intimate, making it a perfect spot for family outings or casual catch-ups over a cup of expertly brewed Americano or a comforting chai latte. Their selection of hot drinks complements the baked goods wonderfully, offering everything from aromatic Earl Grey to velvety Hot Chocolate. It's easy to see why Sarah Grace and many others keep returning for their organic rye bread staples and the soothing drink options that complete their visits.

While The Artisan Bake Shoppe has been a beloved institution since 2004, some customers have expressed sadness over recent operational challenges. 'The best bread bakery,' as one customer aptly puts it, The Artisan Bake Shoppe is more than just a place to buy bread; it’s a community treasure steeped in tradition and craft. The heartfelt wish for the bakery’s revival through crowdfunding speaks volumes about its impact on locals and bread enthusiasts alike.

In essence, The Artisan Bake Shoppe Ltd offers a genuinely heartfelt culinary journey that reconnects you with the joy of simple, natural ingredients elevated by expert hands. Whether you’re craving a perfectly textured Coarse Rye to take home or a slice of Tiramisu Cake to savor with friends, this bakery-cafe is a must-visit destination that nourishes the body and soul alike.

Artisan bread is the best bread bakery. We have been faithful customer since 2004. It’s so sad that it’s now closed. We should not see such a treasure in the province disappeared just because of insufficient fund to operate. Artisten is also not good at marketing but the bread is the best in the province. We should crowd funding to help Artisen start again.

Finally we have real bread in town! Minimum ingredients and no sugar. My fave is Multigrain one. Thank you very much for your craft. I wish I could buy it in more places.

my favourite bread in town is the Coarse Rye, lately, however, you have had problems with the slicing. Maybe doing it too early or in a faulty machine. This is difficult for elderly customers. I still buy it and valiantly slice the ends, it is just too good to give up.

Wow! I had your pumpkin pie last night (bought it in a grocery store)! The best I’ve ever had! The texture, flavour, the buttery crust, can really taste the quality of the ingredients used! So good!!

Welp, RIP my favorite bread. The og and only proper Ancient Grains. I'm guessing management and mold problems lead to some kind of demise... sad. They could've posted somewhere that operations ended though! So much time wasted

As I have a pre-diabetes condition, I tried to search low sugar cookies for treats. I found this Banana-Pecan cookies only contain 1g of sugar per cookies, and it taste delicious. However, I just like to confirm the label is correct, and no mistake. How could a 50g cookie taste so great with only 1g sugar added? Some bakeries will add sugar alcohol as the substitute for the sugar. Thank you. K
